Thank You Troops Campaign

September 11, 2001, a day that changed our lives, forever. No matter what religion you are, the color of your skin or where you live, we have all been touched by this day’s events. Whether you have a family member, co-worker or friend, we all know of someone serving in the United States Armed Forces. Three members of the Broken Spoke band have children serving in the military. Jay’s daughter Valerie, Bobby’s son-in-law Billy and Keith’s step-son Chad are all a part of our troops.

Chad has returned from Iraq and is finally home with us, healthy and happy to be here.

In early 2008, Billy, along with his Marine division, was deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan. In efforts to keep their spirits up, they need the strength and encouragement that can only come from support from home.

Broken Spoke is continuing our “Thank You Troops” campaign to show the brave men & women of the United States military our appreciation. On each table at our performances, you will find Thank You cards. We ask that folks attending our shows write a few lines of appreciation and support. Such a simple task can make an immeasurable difference in the lives of our troops.

We are not asking for your opinion or support of this war. We are simply asking for a show of support for our troops. These folks are doing an exemplary and quite often thankless job. We ask that you keep your comments general in nature as we have no way of knowing which service-person will receive your individual card.

The completed cards can be left on the tables to be collected at the end of the show or, given to any member of the Broken Spoke family. They will be placed in their respective envelopes and forwarded to our troops in Afghanistan. Your messages will be included with the next shipments to be distributed to Billy's division in Kandahar.

We started this campaign in early September 2007 and the Broken Spoke fans have amazed us again with their tremendous response.

We ask that you keep our armed service men and women in your prayers. It’s because of these fine men & women of the United States that we are able to enjoy the many freedoms that are so easily taken for granted.

GOD Bless Our Troops!
